There are two shapes of squeegee: ordinary pointed squeegee and cross-section squeegee, the most commonly used is cross-section squeegee.
Cross-section type squeegee ordinary pointed squeegee
The cross-section type squeegee has a long service life. Because the processing angle of the contact part between the squeegee and the roller is very precise, the ink squeegee is accurate. Although the blade of the squeegee is constantly worn during the printing process, the contact area remains constant over the entire length of the squeegee, so the tone of the image does not change after printing.
The service life of ordinary pointed squeegee is limited. Since the edge of ordinary squeegee is pre-ground, only the edge of the blade can touch the plate cylinder. As the squeegee gradually wears, the cross-sectional area of the contact portion also increases, which is very unfavorable for squeegeeing, and will cause changes in the image tone value after printing. In this case, in order to ensure the consistency of the print, it is necessary to constantly adjust the squeegee.
